I had the good fortune to spend half a day with a gentleman who usually conducts tours of Galway for tourists and school parties. I met him when he had a very quiet morning, we chatted about my project and he suggested he would give me a personal tour. I learnt so much about so many aspects of Galway from him the time spent was priceless. I was pretty much in the dark about James Joyce prior to that day.
